常见的商科专业有5类:Accounting、Finance、MBA、Marketing和HR(Human Resource)。这五类专业大都是开设在高校的商学院(Business School)或者管理学院(School of Management)。

üFinance:首先要注意的是,美国的金融专业分为三种:金融工程(Financial Engineering)、金融(Finance)、和金融分析(Financial Analyst)。金融工程一般设立在工程学院,要求兼具数学和计算机背景,更偏向于理工科;金融分析目前是一个新兴的学科,主要面对的职业是金融分析师。最常见的金融是指在商学院内设立的专业,其硕士专业简称MSF,所涉及行业包括金融分析、投资管理、公司金融等。美国高校在开设MSF专业的申请条件、录取要求有时会存在明显的差异。比如某些美国教授更倾向于本科是理工科的学生读MSF进行学科交叉,特别有一些学校,像华盛顿圣路易斯大学,普林斯顿大学,它们更喜欢数学背景较强的学生。所以如果你打算读商科,那么像高等数学、线性代数、概率与统计学等这些课程一定要尽量取得好的成绩,在申请的时候就会占优势。

üHR(Human Resource):美国的HR专业在不同类型的院校所研究的方向也有所不同。如商学院的HR专业注重培养学生的人力资源管理能力、沟通能力和领导力,实用性强;对于学生的Soft Skills(沟通、合作、领导力、决断力)要求很高。而文理学院的HR则更注重理论与实践的结合,综合性较强。所以大家在选择专业的同时一定要注意是学校的类型。
