Appositives
同位语
Remember that nouns are words that name a person, a place, a thing, or an idea.
名词可以命名人、地点、事物或观点。
Nouns can function as appositives. An appositive is a noun or noun phrase that renames another noun that comes right before it.
名词可以作为同位语。同位语是名词或名词短语，可以指代之前出现的名词的。
When the appositive is nonessential, you set it off with commas. Nonessential means that you don't need the appositive to completely understand the sentence.
不必要使用同位语时，可以用逗号。不必要使用表明不需要用同位语就可以完全理解句子。
When the appositive is essential, you do not use commas.
需要使用同位语时，就不能使用逗号隔开。
同位语的例子：
1:My teacher Mrs. Jones is very nice.
我的老师Mrs. Jones太太非常和蔼。
“Mrs. Jones”指代老师。
2:The book Black Beauty is about a horse.
Black Beauty这本书讲的是一匹马。
“Black Beauty”指代这本书。
3:Karen, the girl sitting behind me in class, is wearing a green shirt.
上课坐在我后面的女孩Karen穿了一件绿色的裙子。
“The girl sitting behind me in class”指代Karen。
Examples of an essential and a nonessential appositive with explanation:
需要使用同位语和不需要同位语的例子：
The book Black Beauty is about a horse.
“Black Beauty”指代这本书。这个同位语必须加上，否则不能理解这句话。
Karen, the girl sitting behind me in class, is wearing a green shirt.
上课坐在我后面的女孩Karen穿了一件绿色的裙子。这个同位语也可以不加，不加同位语也可以理解这句话。

行为动词被标注了下划线。
1) Sam and Eric ride the bus to school each morning.
Sam 和Eric每天早晨坐公交车去学校。
2) Jan wants a horse for her birthday.
Jan过生日想要一匹马。
3) Ian reads a chapter in his book each night.
Ian 每晚读完书的一个章节。
4) Do you think it will rain today?
你觉得今天会下雨吗？
5) I believe in fairies and unicorns.
我相信有精灵和独角兽。
6) Will you help me with my homework?
你可以帮我完成家庭作业吗？
7) Please call your mom.
请给你妈妈打电话。
8) The chicken strutted across the road.
小鸡大摇大摆的穿过马路。
