在雅思大作文中，例证法作为一种论证手段，经常被考生使用。比如剑8第167页的范文中出现“To do this, we need to improve the choice of public transport services available to travelers. For example, if sufficient sky trains and underground train systems were built and effectively maintained in our major cities, then traffic on the roads would be dramatically reduced.”然而，多数考生在作文中仅会使用For example和For instance等较为初级的例证手段。笔者在此提供几种更为高级的例证标志词供考生学习。
一、 普通青年：For example, For instance
值得注意的是，For example和For instance后面一定跟的是逗号，再加句子，而非中文中的冒号。
二、 文艺青年：A convincing example is that; A remarkable example is that
A convincing example is that 一个有说服力的例子是……后面加完整的句子。A remarkable example is that 一个显著的例子是…… 后面也要加完整的句子。比如在今年2月18日的大作文“科技是否使我们的生活变得简单了”，我们可以写到“Technological progress has simplified people’s life in weather forecast. A remarkable example is that scientists can analyze weather data transmitted back by weather satellite, forecasting weather condition and even giving warnings on natural disaster in time.”科技的进步使气象预报变得简单了。一个明显的例子是科学家可以通过分析气象卫星传输回的数据来预测天气，甚至对自然灾害进行及时预警。
三、 高分青年：There is considerable evidence suggesting that; There is no evidence showing that
There is considerable evidence suggesting that 后面加完整的句子，译作：有大量的证据表明……。在今年5月12日的作文题“对犯人进行教育和培训是否会更好”这道题中可以用到“Education and Training help prisons master employment skills after being released. There is considerable evidence suggesting that such an action could reduce the rate of repeating crimes.”。There is no evidence showing that后面加完整的句子，译作：没有任何证据显示……。例如在今年1月12日的作文“政府是否可以在每个城镇修建免费图书馆”这道题中，同学们可以写“Some people may argue that it may impose a heavy burden on the government. Actually, there is no evidence showing that building free libraries will cost too much funds of the government.”。
例证法是常被用来增强论证力度非常有效的一种手段，笔者在此提出除了For example之外的其他几种表达供大家参考。希望大家在作文中能够举一反三、灵活运用。
