The charts below show the percentage of time spent by working adults on different activities in a particular country in 1958 and 2008.
在雅思A类小作文考试中，饼状图（pie chart）通常会以组合图的形式出现，要求考生分析若干张相关的饼图，找到每张饼图内部的关键信息，并指出各图的相关之处。
饼状图的特点是：组成一个整体的各个部分之间的比例关系清晰明了，相对大小关系都通过各个扇形面积的大小体现出来。而饼状图的难度在于，在数据量众多的情况下，如何通过分类比较选取关键信息进行阐述，并找到其中的变化规律。
【范文】
The given pie charts illustrate how the working adults in a particular country spent their time on different activities in 1958 and 2008.
In 1958, average working adults spent 25% of their time on sleeping. Working took up 15% of their time, while the daily commutes to and back from work cost 10% of their time in total. Apart from sleeping, working and commuting, which consisted half of all the time, people's free time was usually spent on relaxing at home (20%), hanging out with family and friends (24%), and some other activities (6%).
After half a century, by 2008, the way people allocated their time had experienced major changes. As is shown in the chart, sleeping time had been cut short to only 20% of the total amount. In contrast, the working time was prolonged by 4%, and the time of traveling to work also increased by 4%. With the increase of time related to work, people naturally needed more time relaxing at home. Besides, much less time (only 18%) was left for going out with family and friends.
All in all, comparing the way people organise their time, we can see that people now face more pressure from work and have less time to rest and relax. (209 words)
