Liz游历了意大利几个城市之后，回到了熟悉的Rome，没多久就是美国的感恩节（Thanksgiving Day)了，恰逢这天也是Spaghetti先生（还记得我们的意大利面先生吗）的生日，那就两个节日一起庆祝喽。(感恩节是每年十一月的第四个星期四）
Luca Spaghetti’s birthday falls this year on America’s Thanksgiving Day,so he wants to do a turkey for his birthday party.He says we can use the kitchen of his friends Mario and Simona,who have a nice big house in the mountains outside Rome,and who always host Luca’s birthday parties.
Luca Spaghetti今年的生日刚好是美国的感恩节，因此他想在自己的生日会上做一只火鸡。他说可以用他的朋友马里奥和赛莫那夫妻的厨房，他们在罗马城外山上有一幢漂亮的大房子，也是他们一直主持Luca的生日会。
在雅思的口语话题里面，经常会有让我们描述一次生日聚会的话题，这个段落的内容交代了寿星，时间以及地点，真是太适合用来准备口语第一段内容啦，只要把人名地点略做修改即可。
词汇时间：
1、birthday falls on Thanksgiving Day：生日这天刚好是感恩节。Fall有落在哪里的意思，但是在这里是说：to happen at a specified time，在一个特定的时间发生。这个词真不错， Christmas falls on a Friday this year.今年的圣诞节是个星期五。Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday this year,we can spend the whole day celebrating.这个相信很多恋爱中的同学能用的上，今年的情人节是个星期天，我们可以庆祝一整天。
2、Turkey：火鸡，在美国的感恩节，火鸡是感恩节菜单上必备的一道菜，美味呀。
3、Host：主持（聚会），招待。
接下来介绍参加party的都是何方人士。
My friend Deborah has come to Rome to celebrate the holiday with me.Sofie will be coming to Luca’s party,too.Everybody is always welcome on Thanksgiving.Especially when it also happens to be Luca Spaghetti’s birthday.
我的朋友黛布拉来罗马同我过节。索菲也会去Luca的聚会。在感恩节这天我们欢迎所有人。特别是这天同时也是Luca的生日。
4、happen to be：碰巧，偶然。 I happened to overhear their conversation. 我偶然听到了他们的谈话。
聚会上的食物：
We drive out of Rome in the evening,up into the mountains.We arrive at the house of Mario and Simona.No time to roast a twenty-pound turkey,obviously,but Luca sautes up some lovely cuts of turkey breast and I preside over to make a Thanksgiving stuffing,as best as I can remember the recipe,made from the crumbs of some high-end Italian bread,with necessary cultural substitutions(dates instead of apricots;fennel instead of celery).Somehow it comes out great.
傍晚时分，我们离开罗马开往山区。我们到了马里奥和赛莫那家。很显然没时间烤一只20磅的火鸡了，不过Luca炒了几块不错的火鸡胸脯肉，我负责做感恩节的填料，尽可能地回忆食谱，食材包括高级意大利面包屑，一些在意大利的替代材料（用枣子代替杏仁，茴香代替芹菜）。不过做出来挺棒的。
5、drive out of：开出……，drive out of the garage（开出车库）。
6、Arrive at：到达某地
7、Roast：烤……roast beef 烤牛肉。
8、Obviously：明显得。除了像段落里这种副词后置的方法，还可以表述为：It is obvious that we don’t have time to roast a turkey.
9、Saute：炒，嫩炸（放很少的油来炸）。
Cuts of turkey breast：火鸡胸脯肉。Breast是胸脯，而cut在这里的意思是a piece of meat that is cut from a particular part of an animal's body，动物某个部位的肉。
10、Preside over：负责，等于in charge of.
11、Stuffing：填料，是指放入肉里的馅料。
12、Recipe：菜谱，食谱。
13、Crumb：面包屑。
14、High-end：质量好价格高的。High-end clothes高档服装。
15、Substitution：替代物（因为是在意大利，没有美国传统stuffing的制作食材，所以要用些替代物）
16、Date：不是日期，是大枣哦。
17、apricot：杏；fennel：茴香；celery：芹菜。
18、Instead of：代替。
19、Come out：呈现出，用来描述某件东西做完后的质量。The brownies came out a little too dry.
