近年来在中国大陆考区，雅思写作单项成绩的总平均接近5.5【半桶水】，这说明一般烤鸭的英文写作程度介于【modest user】与【competent user】之间。谢振礼老师个人认为问题不大，候选人只要针对【评分标准】来自行改进几点，【不出十日】，必能【越6向7】。
细读【 Band 5 vs. Band 6】和 【Writing Target: Band 9】相对比较。请网友注意【评分标准】的字里行间。首先把5.0写作的15个毛病挑出来。估计不出十日就能改进错误的三分之一，事后必然超越６分。假以10周，若能改进三分之二，则有信心７分在握。当然希望能把毛病全部消除，如此则９分有望，不过此事费时，必不下于10个月的煎熬，甚至近于10年的寒窗。
