Linking Verbs
连系动词
Linking Verbs are verbs that express a state of being.
连系动词是表示一种存在状态的动词。
They are called "linking" verbs because they link the subject of the sentence to a word or phrase in the predicate that renames or describes the subject (tells us more about the subject's "state of being").
之所以被称为连系动词，是因为它连接了句子主语和谓语中描述主语的一个词或短语（描述主语的存在状态）。
Examples of Linking Verbs:
什么词是连系动词：
All forms of the verb "be" are always linking verbs.
动词“be”的所有形式通常都是连系动词。
“be”的所有形式 Forms of be: be being been am is are was were
Other verbs can be linking verbs or action verbs:
其他动词也可以作为连系动词：
Examples: feel taste smell look grow
To find a linking verb:
找出连系动词：
1) If the verb is a form of be (be, being, been, am, is, are, was, were), you have a linking verb.
1）如果动词是be的一种形式(be, being, been, am, is, are, was, were)，这个词就是连系动词。
2) For other verbs, if you can replace the verb with a form of "be" and the sentence makes sense, you have a linking verb.
2）对于其他动词，可以用"be"的一种形式替换，如果这句话有意义，这个词就是连系动词。
Examples with explanation:
John is nice.
John与人为善。（Is把John和一个描述他的形容词联系在一起。）
Lauren was at the theater.
Lauren在剧院。（Was把Lauren和讲述她所在地方的短语连接在一起）
Tanner feels sick.
Tanner觉得自己生病了。（Feels把Tanner和一个描述他的形容词连接在一起。）
Mr. Peters is our teacher.
比得先生是我们的老师。（Is把Mr. Peters和指代他的名词连接在一起。）
怎样找出连系动词：
The flower looks beautiful.
这朵花很漂亮。
Is the flower "looking"? No.
"looking"的主语是花 吗？不是。
Could you say "The flower is beautiful."? Yes.
可以说"The flower is beautiful."吗？可以。
In this sentence, "looks" is a linking verb.
在这话中，"looks"是个连系动词。
